The History of Troup Volunteer Fire Department

Troup fire was started in the early 1900s and these were the first apparatus.

Troup VFD's mission was to provide the best emergency service to the community. 15 members initially served as members of Troup VFD with a goal to protect the community and honor God with all we do.

In September of 2024, Troup Volunteer Fire Department did not renew their  contract with Smith County ESD 2. The remaining volunteers serve in parts of Cherokee County.
