Smith County ESD2 is divided into twelve (12) fire districts for incident response. Additionally, SCESD 2 contracts with two other outside agencies (Mineola VFD and Van VFD) to increase response.

Smith County, TX has three (3) other fire districts within the county that are not part of Smith County Emergency Services District 2 (SCESD 1 in Lindale, City of Whitehouse Fire, and City of Tyler Fire).
