House Bill 305
On September 1, 2019, House Bill 305 became effective. This legislation requires any political subdivision with the authority to impose taxes, and that has maintained a publicly accessible website since January 1, 2019, to post the following information on its website:
- The political subdivision's contact information, including a mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A list of each elected officer of the political subdivision.
- The requirements and deadlines for filing candidacy for each elected office, which must be continuously posted for at least one year prior to the election day for that office.

Senate Bill 2 (2019)
In 2019, Texas Senate Bill 2 became effective. This legislation focused on property tax reform and transparency. This bill required several major changes related to online tax information. One major focus was requiring local taxing units to post detailed tax rate and budget information online.
